What is Carson & Barnes Circus position on animal care?
During its 69-year association with animals, both exotic and domestic, Carson
& Barnes Circus has demonstrated a deep commitment to the well-being of the animals who share our world. It is a commitment
that stands on its own merit. In all aspects of animal care and safety, Carson & Barnes Circus meets or exceeds all federal
animal welfare standards set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under the Animal Welfare Act (AWA). We
are regularly inspected at the federal, state and local level and in 69 years have never been found in violation of the AWA.
We are well aware of the efforts by animal rights activist groups such as PeTA and
the HSUS to demonize the circus through a campaign of misinformation. However, we believe very strongly that our daily professional
care and treatment of all our animals is open to public scrutiny and stands the test of time.
1. The United States Department of
Agriculture (USDA) licenses Carson & Barnes Circus. The USDA strictly regulates care, treatment & proper documentation
of circus animals.
2. Carson & Barnes Circus fully
complies with USDA regulations & procedures.
3. Circus animals are under the care
& continuous supervision of trained professionals.
4. Carson & Barnes Circus voluntarily

Q. What is Carson & Barnes' policy & procedures in the event of an animal activist
presence on Circus day?
With respect to possible animal activists’ intervention on
hosted circus days, Carson & Barnes Circus has made provisions for these groups to be heard, as long as they do not disrupt
traffic or interfere with patrons. We provide a designated area specifically for these groups to conduct an orderly protest.
We also provide trash containers for circus goers to dispose of the unsolicited activist materials.
